Friday 7th July
Albury/Wodonga v N/W Tasmania
The season may be on the verge of unravelling for the Bandits, having lost four straight to fall out of the East Conference top four while injuries to Darcy Harding and Mitch Newton have further hampered matters.
N/W Tasmania are similarly on the edge of the top four in the South but despite a loss to Geelong last round, four wins from their past five games has their momentum heading in the opposite direction to Albury/Wodonga. They will take confidence from a three-point win just a fortnight ago over the Bandits which they achieved without Ahmad Starks. TJ Robinson tallied 26 points and 17 rebounds in that meeting but with less help this round due to injuries, his efforts may not be enough for the home side to turn their fortunes around.
Saturday 8th July
Kilsyth v N/W Tasmania
Trailing by 14 points in a game against the Bandits that could have ended their finals aspirations, Kilsyth dug deep and recovered with a 32-12 fourth quarter to run out convincing winners as Daniel Dillon (32 points, six rebounds, nine assists) and Chris Patton (23 points, eight boards, six assists) starred.
They now sit equal with the Bandits on an 8-10 record and if results fall their way, they could move into the top four by round’s end. They will be further buoyed by having beaten the Thunder by 11 points back in Round 1 while the visitors will also be playing the second night of a back-to-back.
