SEABL | Andrew Gaze to visit Tasmania as Melbourne Tigers face Hobart Chargers and North-West Thunder

BY CAMERON SLESSOR (@camronslessor) THE ADVOCATE  The man described as the greatest basketball player Australia has ever produced will visit the North-West this weekend. 

Andrew Gaze has had one of the most impressive basketball careers for an Australian having won an NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 1999 and dominating the NBL during his career.

Gaze is currently head coach of the Sydney Kings in the NBL as well as the Melbourne Tigers in the SEABL with his side travelling to Tasmania to face the Hobart Chargers and the Tall Timbers North-West Thunder this weekend.

The Tigers will face the Chargers on Friday night where Gaze will go up against former playing rival Anthony Stewart in the coaching chair.

The Melbourne side will then travel to Ulverstone to face Sam Armstrong’s Thunder side who are without the services of American import Akeem Richmond. 

Tip off at Schweppes Arena will be from 7.30pm on Saturday.
